Forgot Windows XP Password ?

Submitted by on Thursday, 31 January 200820 Comments

Yes it is possible to change Adminstrator password both in Win XP and Vista without knowing it. If you somehow manage to login as an Administrator then you can change the password without knowing it.

Here’s the Step-By-Step instructions

1. Right-click on the “My Computer” icon on the desktop OR in the Start Menu.

2. Select the option “Manage”.

3. On the left pane expand the “Computer Management (Local) tree (if it is not already expanded)

4. Double click “Local Users and Groups” option From “System Tools” tree.

5. Click the “Users” option.

6. Now you will see the list of users on the right side pane, such as Administrator, Guest etc.

7. Right click the “Administrator” and select the option “Set Password” option.

8. Now you will see a warning message, Click on proceed.

9. Now the system asks you for “New Password” and “Confirm Password” .

10. After entering the password click on “OK”. The password is changed. That’s It!

    Hey man, whatsup?

    I first noticed your site in a dofollow comment on a Jakeldaily post. You said that your page was a PR2 site, and so I clicked on ur link. And wow. Do you know how to hack! You’re definitely not one of those stupid script-kiddies that just steals other ppls codes and says they’re their own. But yeah anyways I’ve actually learned some stuff about getting passwords without actually knowing it =DD

    Anyways, I can see that you want to increase your pagerank and blog traffic, as I do. As well, almost all of your posts have no comments, which is unfortunate considering your posts of outstanding quality and detail (really theyre are soooo good w/ pics and good info). I also have this same problem for some of my posts.

    So, do you want to exchange links?
    Message me back to confirm link placement if you want.

    Thanks alot!

    how can i recover all my data from formated external hard disk?

    hey it is of no use because u u have to know the admin password ,there are too many methods also for this like ERD COMMANDOE,OPH CRACK.

  • MarauderX said:

    Not the most useful of info for this. You need to already have permission on the account before you can alter the password. If already have admin access, it’s not a problem, but if not you’ll need to use a boot disk.

    There are a lot of tools and utilities that can be downloaded and used to recover, reset, retrieve or reveal existing password. These windows password recovery utilities, free or paid, are usually a Linux boot disk or CD that able to comes with NT file system (NTFS) drivers and software that will read the registry and rewrite the password hashes, or can brute force crack the password for any user account including the Administrators. The advantage is that there is no fear of leaking your password to outsiders, while the process requires physical access to the console and a floppy or CD drive, depending on which tool you choose. And it’s not easy, although it always work!
    Below is the most famous recovery tool I found:
    Windows Password Recovery Tool 3.0 – it is the most popular Windows password cracker . It is a very efficient implementation of windows any versions. It comes with a Graphical User Interface and runs on multiple platforms.

    Password Recovery Bundle –This is a utility to reset the password of any user that has a valid (local) account on your windows system. You do not need to know the old password to set a new one. It works offline, that is, you have to shutdown your computer and boot off a floppydisk or CD. It’ll detect and offer to unlock locked or disabled out user accounts. It is also an almost fully functional registry editor.

    Windows Password Key 8.0 -It is considered as the best tool to reset local administrator and user passwords on any Windows system. It creates a password recovery CD/DVD, USB Flash Drive for home, business and enterprise. And most of all, it’s the most popular and safe solution for removing your Windows password until now.

    Dear Author

    Well I have got something more interesting…..

    Even if you possibly log on as any user (not mandatory: an administrator) Still you can use a method a bit different from dis…

    1. START -> RUN

    2. type “control userpasswords2″ with out the quotes… -> OK

    {this will display all the users}

    3. Click on the required user U wanna access and click -> RESET PASSWORD on the bottom…..

    4. it allows u 2 add a new password without the knowledge of the previous password…..

    5. RESTART AND LOG ON…. U r done.

    @ Ali

    If the “Administrator” account is not password protected then it is possible. Otherwise it is not!
